
Tamie
Aubin is a registered physical therapist who focuses
on holistic therapeutic healing approaches and teachings. She
has been trained in Myofascial Release I, II, Unwinding techniques,
and Myofascial Mobilization. As well, to complement these skills,
Tamie has Cranio-Sacral Therapy training, has training in sensory
defensiveness strategies and facilitates child meditation techniques.
She uses comprehensive treatment approaches encompassing the
needs of the whole person and empowers through her teachings
on awareness and balance of the 4 (quaternity) elements for
uniting the mind, body, spirit and emotions. Tamie graduated
from the University of Alberta in Edmonton with a Bachelor
of Science degree in Physical Therapy and has been treating
and consulting since 1993 in various northern Alberta and British
Columbia communities.
Who would benefit from a physical therapy assessment & treatment?
· A person with a disabling condition, such as low-back pain, general
strains and sprains, arthritis, neck pain, fibromyalgia, headaches…
· A recent sports injury or limitation in mobility
What to expect from a Physical Therapist?
· A physical examination
· A discussion of your present condition and feedback on findings from
the assessment
· A discussion of treatment options, goals and possible outcomes:
· Assist clients to restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain,
prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities.
· Restore, maintain and promote overall fitness and health.
Pediatrics & Physical Therapy
When would a physical therapy assessment be appropriate for your child?
· If your child hasn’t yet reached gross motor developmental milestones,
has difficulties or is clumsy with general mobility and/or demonstrates behavioural
difficulties which may be related to sensory processing.
· Should your child experience headaches or muscle related pains.
School-based consultations
· The Physical Therapist will perform an assessment of gross motor skills,
sensory processing and/or a physical evaluation of a student.
· Therapist will develop and provide recommendations for parents, student
and school staff.
In-home or school consultations are available,
as well as assessments and treatments in the clinic.
Services are provided for Motor-vehicle claims,
third-party billing, private health insurance plans or client
pay-for-service.
Referrals may be made by a physician, other
health care professional or by the client themselves!
Fees for Service:
Adult: $80 per hour, $45 per 30 minutes
Pediatrics: $70 per hour
